Christmas Day is magical for us. Whether we’re awaken at 5am by excited little cousins or we sleep in a bit and share the day with our family of adults, it’s a day full of sparkle. One way we enjoy a bit more pixie dust is by watching Disney’s Christmas Day Parade on ABC.
What some people don’t realize (especially if they live outside of Florida) is that this spectacular parade shown on Christmas Day is actually recorded ahead of time. It’s still magical, it’s just recorded in advance so that visitors to the Magic Kingdom and other Disney parks on Christmas Day will get to enjoy their visit without a film crew blocking off areas. It also makes it a lot easier for all of the extra hardworking film crew to film on a day that’s not crowded. Makes sense, right?! Right!
The parade film crew is AMAZING!
Well, this year we had a chance to take part in the parade taping! It was amazing watching the film crew do their stuff and seeing the Castmembers in the parade perform sometimes more than once. Here are some highlights!
Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph came cruising by in her Christmas-y decorated car. That wreath looks good enough to eat!
Anna and Elsa from Frozen float by on their icy tower. These ladies always seem to have fun no matter what type of weather!
Stormtroopers? On Main Street USA? That was the coolest scene EVER!!! Be sure to watch the parade on ABC on Christmas Day to see some NEW characters from the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!!
It’s a Gingerbread Man!! He was joined by several of his Gingerbread friends as they came down Main Street USA. And wow, did they smell yummy!
We also got to see friends from Toy Story, Inside Out, and Playhouse Disney. And can you guess who made an appearance?? Bo Peep from Toy Story!! We’re so excited that the upcoming Toy Story 4 will be a love story between Bo Peep and Woody!
If they don’t cut out our part, we just might show up in the section with Toy Story/Inside Out/Playhouse Disney. But no matter what’s on the final reel of Disney’s Christmas Day Parade for 2015, we had a blast!!
