Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival!

Every fall, an event comes to Walt Disney World that draws people from around the globe because of it’s amazing food. Yes, Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival has been amazing guests for 20 years with it’s culinary masterpieces, but it’s so much more than tasty noms.

The presentation of food, style of each country’s kiosk, and delightful names of each delicious edible creation just makes the whole event so much fun!

Food & Wine

Some of our favorite entrees? Ooh, we can never skip classics like Canadian Cheese Soup (Canada, duh), Boeuf Bourguignon (France), Schinkennudeln (Germany), and Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce (Patagonia). Those oldies are still tasting great! And let’s not forget one of our new faves, the Loaded Mac and Cheese (Farm Fresh). Soooo yummy!
But you guys know us so well and how we absolutely love desserts. True story, right? Yep. So let’s get to the really tasty (and final) part of this review…sweets!
We still love the Lamington, and how could we not as When Harry Met Sally fans? Seriously, this dessert has Sally written all over it… yellow cake, dipped in chocolate sauce and covered in coconut. Right?! Sounds very similar to her description of a certain wedding cake!
And yet, we have two new sweet favorites who screamed our names even before we entered Epcot. (Yes, we have a way of hearing certain sound waves emitted by chocolate. It’s freaky. But oh so good.) We think the Chocolate Cherry Explosion and the Frozen S’mores were designed just for us. No joke. The moment that chocolatey mousse with the cherry layer hit our taste buds we were done. Totally smitten. And the frozen campfire-delicacy-in-a-cup? Goodness, that s’mores drink capped off another perfect moment.
It was time for a nap after those two. A couple of hammocks stretched out between some trees around World Showcase would have been perfect, but the rest of the World called to us. See ya later, foodies!

OMG! Why have I never heard of this “lamington”? It IS Sally’s wedding cake…and in my world I am known as Sally! Where is this perfection found???

You’re Sally? Then Lamington is perfect for you!
